Jeremy Lin can now call Madison Square Garden, home. If you would’ve asked someone a month ago who Jeremy Lin was, you would’ve received a blank stare followed by a shrug of the shoulders. Today the response is an exciting yell “LINSANITY”.

The emergence of the New York Knicks Jeremy Lin has taken not just the NBA by storm but the entire world. Making his presence felt with game winners, high scoring games against one of the greatest to the play the game, Kobe Bryant, and the defending world champs the Dallas Mavericks; Jeremy Lin is a rising star in the league.

One question that still lingers for some is, “Where did he come from?” Let Jeremy answer that question and he’ll tell you his brothers couch in the Lower East Side of Manhattan, New York.

You would think he was short on cash but that wasn’t the case. This season alone, Jeremy Lin has been with the Houston Rockets, Golden State Warriors, and was close to being cut from the New York Knicks.  Nothing was for certain, so for six weeks, Lin made his brothers couch his bed until things were set in stone.

With a new contract worth almost $610K for the remainder of year, Lin is getting off the couch and moving to White Plains in a luxurious high rise better known as the Trump Tower. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves, it’s only been a month but Jeremy Lin has agreed to sublet an apartment from ex-Knickerbocker David Lee for the time being.

A source told the New York Post

“It is very common for new Knicks to stay at the Trump Tower in White Plains while they get acclimated to the city…The Knicks keep players there when they are new. Sometimes they stay; sometimes they find places on their own there.”

Athlete or not, moving to New York City can be overwhelming situation if you are unfamiliar with the area. Ask around and do some of your own research on areas that might interest you.  If you have had bad experiences moving in the past, don’t worry because you can become the “Jeremy Lin of moving” when you use 123Movers.com start your move.

State regulators took action yesterday against 10 moving companies that have been operating without permits in Washington.

The Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission fined four residential moving companies $5,000 each for operating without permits. The four companies are:

  1. Seattle-based A-1 Movers also operating as Big Movers R Us, Big Donz Moving Service and Big Don Moving Service owned by Donald Adams.
  2. Seattle-based Northwest Moving Services, formerly known as Seattle Moving Services and owned by Larry Heath.
  3. Rain City Services, headquartered in Seattle and owned by Derrick DeJesus.
  4. Integrity Moving and Transport of University Place, owned by Jordan Wood.

These companies failed to appear at a hearing before the commission. If they continue to operate, the commission will seek enforcement through the courts and the Washington State Patrol, the commission said in a statement.

Another five residential moving companies received reduced penalties after agreeing to shut down operations in Washington. The five carriers are:

  1. Ace Movers of Kennewick, owned by Branden Jones.
  2. Seattle-based Affordable and Careful Movers, owned by Shawn Mace.
  3. Bob the Mover, also operating as Accommodating Movers of Seattle, owned by Robert Rindfuss.
  4. Furniture Moving/Fantastic Movers of Seattle, owned by Yukio Haberzettl.
  5. Sequim-based Getter Done Moving, owned by John Glavin.

In these cases, the companies received penalties of $3,000 to $5,000 each, which the commission reduced to $300 to $500 on the condition that the company cease operations and comply with the commission’s written orders.

Another company, A-AAA Rich’s Reliable Movers of Lynnwood, agreed to file an application for a household goods permit and comply with the commission’s rules. The company received a $5,000 penalty for five violations, $4,500 of which was suspended for one year if the company complies with the commission order. Richard Worrell owns the company.

What  the USDOT  is and how does it benefit you

Congress established The Department of Transportation to ensure a safe, fast, and convenient transportation system. Each auto carrier that crosses state lines is given a unique identifier that monitors and collects information for audits, reviews, crash investigations and inspections.

If you plan on using a long distance moving company, the USDOT number is extremely important to the success of your move. If you bypass this important detail, it cost you hundreds if not thousands of dollars on your move. Read More

If there was any better way to understand what your clients are doing in the trenches, it would be to experience it for yourself. Well a group of  Trucking Defense Lawyers decided to do just that.

A group of lawyers decided to attend truck driving school in order to do their jobs better. Not only would they gain a better knowledge of the clients they are defending but they will actually obtain their CDL License.

The group of lawyers believe taking the class will make them more confident in the cases and clients they represent.

Do you think this is a great approach? Let us know your thoughts!

Awhile back we reported on Paris Hilton being stalked and now it seems Lindsay Lohan has a similar case. Recently, Lindsay Lohan was shaken up due to a trespasser at her Venice Beach home.

It has been reported that Lindsay has decided to move out her home when a Van Line was seen placing her furniture  and other items in to a truck.

Where does Lindsay plan on moving to?  Well it’s been said that she has plans on moving to New York City once she has finished her probation; which ends in March.

In the meantime, Lindsay’s things will be placed in storage and she’ll be staying at the historic Chateau Marmont. Go figure, the same place John Belushi overdosed in back in 1982.
